Lauren Newey Turner, BFA
Lauren brings her passion for art and nature to create a transformative educational experience. With a BFA in sculpture, Lauren has collaborated with public land agencies and nonprofit partners to design innovative programs that connect people to nature through art. Her experience as a teacher at Wild Roots Forest School and co-leader of the KIND after-school outdoor program has sharpened her ability to inspire young minds in the natural world.
Whitney Matthewson, M. Ed.
Whitney brings a blend of expertise and passion for holistic child development. A California-credentialed teacher with Montessori certifications, Whitney’s diverse background spans coaching gymnastics, teaching yoga, facilitating raft guide school, panning for gold with 4th graders, and instructing in traditional classrooms. With over 15 years of experience, she is dedicated to fostering a nurturing, engaging learning environment that empowers every child to thrive mentally, physically, and emotionally, distinct from conventional educational approaches.
