Our Offerings

Nature-Based Offerings

River Song is currently taking a break from our regular forest preschool schedule to adapt to our growing family. We project to restart preschool in the Spring of 2027. Please email riversongforestschool@gmail.com for pricing details and registration. 
In the meantime, we invite families to explore our art and nature-based programming that involves parent participation, encouraging families to connect with each other and bring nature-based practices home. 

Community Circle

We gather in circle to sing songs and recite verses accompanied by movements that celebrate themes of the month.
We then share a provided healthy and organic snack followed by free play for the little ones. Children are free to explore the area, prepare delicacies in dirt kitchen, and peruse our small seasonal library. 
With each circle families receive written songs with movements to continue the practice at home. 

Story Crafting


Spark your little one’s imagination with an oral story reflecting seasonal themes, followed by a nature-based craft inspired by the story. We use all natural, high quality or up-cycled materials. Children are then free to play and explore. 

Wandering Circle

We begin with a short wander through nature. Next we have circle with seasonally inspired songs, verses, and movements, followed by a provided healthy, organic snack before returning to our starting location. 

Forest Preschool

Everyday we follow a consistent daily rhythm. Within this reliable pattern, children are able to express emergent interests and teachers are able to observe teaching opportunities. 

Morning Wander

We start the day exploring the immediate area just outside our school spot.

Tea and Snack

Provided herbal tea (hot or cold depending on the day's weather) and healthy snacks. An opportunity to practice manors and participation in serving friends. 

Circle time

Song, verse and movement inspired by themes of the season.

Craft and Free play

Upcycled and high quality, natural materials illustrated themes from our circle and monthly story.

Story time

Each month we have a new oral story celebrating the themes of the season. Everyday the story is a little different, introducing emergent interests, lessons, and new characters. 

Lunch

Parent provided lunchtime, followed by the opportunity to assist in clean up and play until pick up.  

Schedule Offerings

 

  • Drop off at 9am, pick up at 1pm
  • Full time enrollment: 4 day per week option (Mon.-Thu.) 
  • Part time enrollment: 2-3 day per week option (Mon.- Thu.)
  • Pop-up Forest School sessions follow the same daily rhythm as the regular forest school.

Upcoming Pop-up Forest School Sessions

Our pop-up Forest School days can be registered for as individual sessions. We follow our Forest School daily rhythm, welcoming in families that would like to try nature immersion, without the full commitment of enrollment. These sessions also offer the opportunity for parents to attend with their child, creating more of a collaborative and community building experience for families.
